Density

Density Certified Reference Material

Produced in general accordance with the principles of ISO 17034 and ISO 33405, the Density Certified Reference Material set provides certified values for multiple test methods and has been characterised using a reference method in a single laboratory. It is a highly cost effective solution to help meet verification requirements for audited laboratories and those which comply with ISO 17025.

To emulate real world fuel samples, each bottle of this hydrocarbon mixture covers different density ranges from 0.688 to 0.871 @ 15 °C. Density values are provided at ¹: 0, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 & 35 °C.

The Density Certified Reference Material is supplied with full documentation including Safety Data Sheet (SDS), in tamper evident security packaging. It comes with a two-year shelf life from date of manufacture.

¹ – Density values for D7 are provided at: 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 & 35 °C due to physical material properties.

Part Number:SETA-1414-0083
Methods: ASTM D4052, ASTM D7042, IP 638

Amount

The Density Reference Standard is suitable for density equipment that operate using an oscillating U-tube, such as ASTM D4052 and ASTM D7042. It allows routine monitoring of instrument performance and is also particularly helpful in training personnel on new equipment and test methods.

Incorrect determination of a result can have far reaching financial and safety implications. The growing use of automated instrumentation increases the possibility that incorrect results may go undetected and in addition the early indication of bias is a useful warning to minimise production ‘giveaway’.

The volume of verification material has been chosen to ensure that there is little wastage after completion of verification tests, and reducing the risk of using a verification material that has been accidently contaminated by another user.

Certification: the Density Certified Reference Standard is supplied with a certificate of measurement which gives a certified value for each test method covered by the material.
